🤖 ClutchBot • Discord-first LFG organizer

Discord LFG that stays clean and actually fills.

ClutchBot turns /clutch host into a single session card per LFG: auto-created thread, join buttons, and automatic expiry — while Clutch powers the session page, identity, and analytics behind the scenes.

One clean embed per LFG, not walls of messages Threads auto-created for coordination with join buttons Old sessions auto-expire, lock, and archive themselves
Drop-in bot. You choose allowed channels and host roles. Remove anytime in server settings.
Clutch + Discord: Discord stays home base, Clutch runs the LFG engine.
How it works

From /clutch host to a fully managed session.

ClutchBot is Discord-first: players stay in your server, while Clutch handles the session logic, join links, and expiry in the background.

Step 1 · In your LFG channel

/clutch host creates a session

The host runs /clutch host, sets slots (1–10), and optionally overrides game, mode, region, platform, mic, age, rank, notes. Channel defaults and allowed pick-lists keep choices clean.

Step 2 · One clean card

Bot posts a session card + thread

ClutchBot checks allowed channels, host roles, cooldowns, and max open sessions — then posts one embed with game art, slots/mic/age/expiry, region/platform(+rank), join code, and auto-creates a thread for coordination.

Step 3 · Auto-managed

Buttons, joins, and expiry

Buttons let players open the thread, go to the Clutch Session Page, or close the run. An automatic sweeper expires old sessions, edits the embed, and locks + archives the thread so your channels stay clean.

For players & mods

What ClutchBot does for your LFG channels.

Players get frictionless hosting and joining. Mods get real controls for channels, roles, and noise — without redesigning the whole server.

For players

Clean, readable LFG

Each LFG becomes a single session card with all the info upfront: slots, mic, age requirement, region, platform, rank, notes, expiry. Coordination lives in the auto-created thread.

For players

Easy to find and rejoin sessions

Use /clutch sessions to list recent open runs, or /clutch join <code> to jump straight into a specific one — with a link to the Discord thread and the Clutch Session Page.

For mods & admins

Channel & server-level controls

Configure allowed channels, an optional host role, max open sessions per channel, default expiry, and host cooldowns so LFG doesn’t spam the server.

For mods & admins

Defaults & allowed pick-lists

With /clutch setup channel, set per-channel defaults for game, mode, region, platform, mic, age, plus allowed regions/platforms/modes. Autocomplete only shows legal options, and the bot enforces them server-side too.

Commands & config

The five commands that run the whole thing.

ClutchBot is intentionally small: a handful of slash commands for players and mods, plus an automatic expiry sweeper that keeps everything tidy.

For players

Core LFG commands

Command What it does
/clutch host Creates a new LFG session in the current channel. Required slots (1–10), plus optional game, mode, region, platform, mic, age, rank, notes.
/clutch sessions Lists the most recent open sessions in the channel (up to 10) with codes, quick summary, thread link, and relative expiry.
/clutch join <code> Returns the Discord thread link (and Clutch Session Page link if available) for a specific join code.
/clutch close <code> Closes an open session. Allowed for the original host and for mods/admins. Updates the embed, removes components, and locks + archives the thread.

Setup & automation

/clutch setup channel is your control panel for one LFG channel:

  • Set defaults for game, mode, region, platform, mic, age, expiry.
  • Configure allowed regions/platforms/modes via buttons + multi-select menus.
  • Clear or disable defaults for channels that don’t need them.

In the background, an automatic expiry sweeper runs every 60 seconds:

  • Finds sessions where status = open and expires_at ≤ now().
  • Marks them expired, edits the embed, and locks + archives the thread.
  • Keeps LFG channels from filling up with dead posts.
Why it’s different

More than another bot spamming your LFG channel.

Most Discord LFG bots just post more messages. ClutchBot keeps the channel clean and pushes the heavy coordination into threads and Clutch sessions that auto-manage themselves.

Plain Discord LFG Discord + ClutchBot
Messages buried in busy LFG channels Each LFG becomes a live session with slots + join code
Coordination scattered across DMs and random replies Per-session thread keeps the run in one place
No guardrails on what players can post Channel defaults + allowed pick-lists keep options consistent
Old LFG posts pile up and confuse everyone Automatic expiry sweeper edits embeds, locks threads, and keeps channels clean
Bridge to Clutch

Discord stays home base. Clutch powers the network.

ClutchBot doesn’t replace Discord — it connects your LFG flow to Clutch. Every Discord session card has a Session Page in Clutch with identity, history, and analytics for your community.

For communities

Keep your culture, upgrade your LFG

Keep your existing channels, roles, and bots. ClutchBot only handles LFG. The heavy lifting — Play Now feed, hubs, identity, and analytics — lives in Clutch, outside of your moderation and event flow.

For players

Session-first beyond one run

Sessions, teammates, and clips live in Clutch, so it’s easier to find good players again, browse Play Now, and follow the hubs for the games they care about — all starting from your server.

FAQ

Answers for admins and players.

Short, practical answers to the questions people actually ask about Discord LFG bots.

What is ClutchBot in one sentence? +
ClutchBot is a Discord-first LFG organizer that turns /clutch host into one clean session card with its own thread, join buttons, and automatic expiry, backed by Clutch’s session-first LFG.
Do players have to leave Discord to use it? +
No. Players host and join sessions entirely from Discord. Clutch runs the session, and players can optionally use the Clutch app for richer features like Play Now, hubs, and identity.
Is this a full replacement for other bots? +
ClutchBot focuses on LFG only. Keep your moderation, music, and utility bots. ClutchBot is the LFG engine that slots into your existing stack.
What permissions does ClutchBot need? +
ClutchBot needs permission to read and send messages (and manage threads) in the channels where you want it to handle LFG. You control which channels it’s allowed in.
Can we try it and remove it if it’s not a fit? +
Yes. You can remove ClutchBot at any time via Discord’s server settings. Removing the bot won’t affect your Clutch profiles or session history.
How does this help with repeat squads? +
Because sessions and teammates are tied to identity in Clutch, it’s easier to find and requeue with players you liked — instead of losing them in old logs or closed threads.
